OUR STORY


The dream began in the early 2000's when Quinton and Huy both worked together at Fuji Sushi Bar located in Tulsa. They continued to work together for several years before taking their own paths into other ventures. Quinton spent time completing his bachelor degree in accounting at Oklahoma State University while Huy continued to hone his Sushi making expertise becoming head Sushi Chef at Fuji, then later at Flying Fish Sushi Bar in Bixby.  Through this time, Huy and Quinton maintained their friendship while understanding that, someday, they would become business partners.  


In 2011, Quinton and Huy found themselves wanting to bring their brand of Sushi and Japanese cuisine to the local area. Knowing that Owasso was a fast growing, family oriented, and up-and-coming community, making Owasso "home" just felt right. So in late 2011, utilizing their twenty years of restaurant experience, the decision was made to open Akira.

After several months of remodeling, Akira finally opened for business on February 25th, 2012. Since then, Akira has been proud to bring high quality Sushi and Japanese cuisine to Owasso and the surrounding areas. The goal is to provide excellent food with outstanding service.
